Hi, so my Mya is dog agressive. My husband will be gone for the 4th of July and I am packing up the two kids, and two dogs and going to my friends farm for the weekend. Because I will be juggling two kids and the two dogs( My lab should be fine) I am worried. So I think the safest thing for all invovled would be for Mya to wear a muzzle. At least for introductions and then see how it goes.
So which one to get? Don't want to go with a metal basket cause I don't want it to get hot and burn her tounge. I did find a leather one that looks decent but I just don't know. Any thoughts would be great. I just want her to be able to drink water with it on.

The leather would be too hot/ the dog cannot pant either. A basket would be best for longer term. I would get her use to it in small doses before hand and make the introduction experience positive.

From what I understand the basket muzzles allow them to pant better and to drink water. You do need to make sure there is padding between the metal and the dog's muzzle so that it does not rub.

I have a people agressive young lady and I use a plastic basket muzzle on her. She can drink through it and even eat small treats. The straps are thin leather and it doesn't seem too hot for her...we were in the upper 90's yesterday. I only had it on for a while, though.

Is there anyone who can watch your dogs - or atleast Mya? She is such a shy/nervous girl, I'm worried about how she might react to the fireworks, multiple people, any other dogs/animals etc - it might be overwhelming for her.
Also, I just remembered...will she be kept outside for the weekend? I'd worry about the heat too...
