I was wondering if anybody had a general list of things I should get prior to bringing our new addition into the family. I am currently shopping for a crate, but thought I could use some help so as not to overlook anything (collar, leash, puppy food brand?, food dish, etc.)

crate (I got one for the house and another for the car), lots of towels to use as bedding or rags for cleaning, a cleaning supply like Nature's Miracle, toys toys toys, I used an expen and loved it, puppy harness and leash, nail clipper and poop scoop if it's your first dog. That's about all I really used.

Grooming supplies....gentle shampoo (though baby shampoo will be fine), brush, comb as Lies said...nail clipper, and lord knows you can't have enough towels. There are specific "doggie towels" in my house. Usually it allows me to go buy new towels for me and I use my old ones for Phoenix!
Since I can't crate Phoenix in my car, I've got a seatbelt harness for him.... Possibly a blanket or bed for the crate? Kevlar gloves for the shark teeth....

I laughed then I thought maybe you are serious. I am also getting a new edition in 3 weeks. Having only met GSD pups, and never before owned before, I thought maybe I have underestimated the sharpness of their needle teeth. Anyone out there lost and appendages to a puppy? Stitches?

Trust us! Those little teeth are SHARP~!.. If it is genetically bloodline bred, then those bites will hurt even more.. Lots and lots of chew toys or rawhide will prevent it from biting your sofa, shoes, electric cords, legs on chairs, etc....
have fun, they are great! |

![]() Phoenix was super mouthy when I first adopted him and actually had to get my dad welder's leather gloves to protect his forearms since they bruise and bleed so easily. I had to get my mom heavy leather work gloves to wear when we visited....They were both thrilled when they no longer had to wear them....

Yeah their teeth are sharp...especially when the breeders sharpen them
(of course the sharpening part is a joke)I haven't lost any apendages yet, but I did lose my favorite pair of jeans to a puppy bite, one bite ripped a hole right through them!
