Unhappy nervous new parent

Fezzik is 9 weeks old. When we got him at 7 weeks his right ear was up and left ear floppy. Last week (8 wks) both ears were up and looked great! As of a few days ago his right ear is now completely down with no signs of any strength, flops to the side and is now showing signs of hair loss.
Should we be concerned?

Default nervous new parent

Nope. Don't worry. The general rule of thumb is "if they were both up once, they will be again". They are going to do all sorts of crazy things over the next couple of months. They will most likely start flipping again when he starts teething. It's normal.

Have you checked his ears for any signs of infection? Sometimes ear infections can cause the ears to drop.

They go up and down. I think Seger's finally stood and stayed up at about 13 weeks. Up Down Up Down Up Halfway Down...UP UP!

Thanks. His ears seem a little dirty and he has scratched at them but we notice he has dry skin and scratches in general.
He has his next vet apt in 7 days but im considering moving it up because of a possible infection (they have a faint odor to them).
