Default Need advice... 13 month old dancing ears

Shelby is 13 months old. Sometimes her ears are up, lots of times they are down....both up, one up, both down, you name it, hers do it.

I almost think they match her laid back, lackadaisical personality, and we won't ever be able to change that. ALL her litter mates are the same way. Mom and dad have perfectly standing ears.

Shelby is the reddish, darker one

Thanks

Oh GOODNESS she is the cutest thing!
Honestly I'm not sure, some people have had dogs whose ears don't fully stand until even older... My pup is in a similar situation at 10 months, though just with one ear. The other one flips up and down still but is usually up.

I've been putting in some foam ear inserts, they are easy and stay in about a week. Don't seem to bother him much either. Not sure if it's helping but it's keeping the ear up for now!

Are you considering taping or anything? I took my pup to a vet who sees a lot of GSDs and got his opinion first... Might help to get a professional opinion!

I didn't even consider taping because i always read it's too late for her.

We bought her from a Vet, the vet says to "not worry about it" "they will eventually come up"

Sort of a bummer but oh well......

Yeah, a lot of people would say it's too late for my pup as well but my vet said there's a good chance! If not, then it's not a big deal either. I'm still hoping for the best!

There's another thread somewhere called "cheap solution to fix broken ears in adult GSDs" and that guy started at 14 months.

If you think it might help, check out some methods for keeping the ear up. If it's not a big deal to you then leave them! I've heard someone else say that theirs didn't come up until 18 months, so who knows!
