Default Are we just too anxious?

Our boy is just about 5 months old. He has pretty big ears for his head, but they have never been up for more than 2-3 minutes at a time and are down about 90% of the time. They literally stick straight out from his head and have a crease where they fall. Even on the rare occasion that they do go up he just shakes them down. Should we just leave his ears and cross our fingers?

At 5 months he is still teething, at around 6.5 months and on if they arnt up I would do something either glue them or tape them to help them go up but wait until he is done teething

I've heard that as long as they've stood up at least once, that they will stand up again permanently. Teething really takes it out of their ears. I think you're fine. Some pups stand up really soon and then drop during teething. That's what my 4.5 month old pup is doing. His were up at 9 weeks and now they are floppy. I'm impatient as well lol

Haha I hope that is the truth cause he is a mighty silly looking guy right now I have only had 1 other German Shepherd which is our current 9yr old Lexi and her ears were up at like 10 weeks and were solid so that is probably why I am a little nervous about his floppy ears.

wow does he get HBO with those?!?!?! I can see why teething make his ears wonky!

OP, teething does crazy things. give it some more time before panicking.

Yeah we'll give him some time yet. He has some monster ears like the pup below so I'm sure it takes a lot to hold those big ole things up.

Fingers are crossed that we have the same results you did after teething. The creases in his ears and the size of them are what worry us though. I am not sure how the heck they could even stand
