Default Just whining

My sister in law sent me a text with a picture of her puppy, which is Knuckles' littermate. One of his ears is up already

Must.Have.Patience.

Here is yesterday...

Wow, he's not old enough to leave the litter here in Ohio, you have plenty of time to enjoy his puppy ears. Lots of puppy changes coming. How long have you had him?

Yes, patience is the key! I'm sure his will be up in no time. Just give him plenty of things to chew on like Bully Sticks.

I just can't get over how cute Knuckles is! I'm also -so- glad that you took him and he has a loving, forever home. =)

You're anxious that his ears aren't up at seven weeks? Most puppies ears aren't up at that age, and even if they are they fall back down when they start teething anyway.

To Selzer-- Kittilicious rescued Knuckles from a pretty bad situation when he was 5 weeks. Reading her posts, I think she's doing a good job with him considering his background.

Yes I'm anxious! There's nothing better than Shepherd ears!
Then when she sent me the pic of Thunder it made my jealousy flare.

And selzer, Emoore summed it up well. I'm glad I got him when I did, knowing what I know now. He'll be a better dog this way. He's 8 weeks on Sunday... I have had him 3 weeks as of today I've been waiting for this 8 week mark. It's like a magic number to me.

If it makes you feel better, Koppers ears popped up at 10 weeks. Rocky's didn't come up until he was nearly 6 months. Both have strong upright ears now.

At two months just sit back and enjoy. Nothing wrong with raw meaty bones to chew on. If he reaches four months and they are not trying to go up, then you might consider helping them. For now though, I would not worry.

The ten week old puppy in the middle is my Bear.

After a few weeks:

Knuckles time will come. I keep forgetting how young he is. You have done a great job and you and your sisiterinlaw helped save those puppies. Daisy was flat eared tiil almost 3 months. She looked like a hound puppy then suddenly they came up and she was nothing but ears and paws. By the way he looks like a big lil guy in his pictures. I shouldnt say it but Im partial to softies.
