Default There's Still Hope!

I haven't posted in forever, but I have some good news for those of you with puppies who's ears won't come up. My dog, Uncle Buck vom Stolzhaus (UB for short) has always had floppy ears. Some days looked like a bad comb-over, some days they were both down, some days they had a mind all of their own. I always got a laugh out of UB's ears. He wore his emotions in his ears. He turned 6 in Feb. and for no apparent reason his ears came up about 6 months ago and they haven't gone down since. They are at full attention all of the time...ALL OF THE TIME!! I've always thought he was a gorgeous boy, but now he is absolutely stunning ~ with those ears up like they should be. So, even tho some of us have lived with the disappointment of floppy ears, and grown to love them, there's still hope for those funny GSD ears to pop up! As MLK said many years ago.....keep hope alive!

6 as in months or years, if it is years that is just wild! Who would have thought after 6 years they would come up?

This is the type of inspiration I need. Sasha just turned 9 months old on 4/11/11. We had put forms in her ears at 8 months old. Well the right ear took fine, but the left was not cooperating with us so we took that form out because the ear looked irritated. Her left ear does go up, but still will flop down. I hold out hope that it is going to go back up, and since others on here have had similar experiences I will stay positive, but 6 years old WOW, you must have thought you were seeing something that wasn't real.

I'll post some pics soon and I'm so thrilled with these goofy ears. My camera is on the fritz, but it should be fixed shortly.

Cool Ahh! Hope!

Blue is 18 months old and he has one crazy ear that is up sometimes and down sometimes....Hope is just what we need....or in other words, "Living on a Prayer!" Anyone else have something similar happen with their GSD?

That is just great about UB's ears. Who would have thought that they would stand after 6 yrs?
Some of you may remember my Bandit's ears did not stand til he was 2 1/2 yrs old.
We lost him this yr on August 15. Looking back, we put a lot of energy into worrying about his ears standing. His ears were real soft but then got very firm over the years.
My Vet used to tell me to whistle to get him alert and it would help.
