Default So... A different question.

What if, quite frankly, you don't care one way or another if the ears go up?

Is that a bad thing?

No... why would it be a bad thing?

That's like asking if it's a bad thing that you don't care if it's sunny or if it rains tomorrow.

Everyone has their own preferences.

Not a bad thing. Cash, my heart dog, was a floppy-eared sable and I 'ed his ears. I swear they were the softest substance in the universe. You can see his pics in my album.

GSDs are supposed to have their ears up and it's a very recognizable look. It's fine to not care if the ears don't go up because they don't go up, but it's another to be doing things that will hamper them going up, like crumpling the ears.
