Default Will his ears stay this way?!

Harleys ears have been like this for a couple of weeks, are they stuck?
Or, is this a stage that is just lasting longer than the last one? They look like they have a permanent crease in them... Oh my.

he'll grow out of it, read this!
4GSD - Ears Up

Quote:
Every pup is different. I've had pups with ears that would never have "come up" without special help. And I've had puppies with ears standing at 4 weeks that NEVER went back down. The general rule is that if the ears are standing or have been standing by the time teething starts (between 3-5 months) they will come back up after the adult teeth are in. The body uses calcium as needed and when teeth and bone growth are developing, the calcium isn't being used for nonessentials like the cartilage at the base of the ear frame.
basically as he grows up the ears will "grow in" as they are supposed to. If you're really worried any basic vitamin supplement should help provide his rapidly growing body with sufficient calcium to allow for correct ear development. the ear cartilage is a calcium repository for when he has a growth spurt and it will rob calcium from there and possibly make them flop over a little before standing back up again. don't worry about it, feed him some egg shells.

We found that giving lots of chew toys helped get the ears up too.

Gosh that's cute!!!

I agree - it's a stage..they'll go up and down and up...

I'm kind of bummed Xander's ears never did that - they were up when we got him and have been up since...I love all the ear stages - especially the tee-pee stage!

Cute pup, I think it is normal for all first time gsd owners to be worried about the ears. That is how I discovered this forum.
