My dogs did not do well on Blue Buffalo. If I remember correctly, the owner says he created the company after his dog was harmed or killed by another food. It seemed like a good story and they had good marketing.
Why? Surely BB is a better company (better food) than the big names out there...or am I missing something?
Now, if it is proven that they put biproducts and claim they don't, that is a different story.
I think I personally get a bit annoyed with the company in general because the reps tend to be in everyone's faces. I can understand being a salesman and having to approach people about the product, but the sales reps in my area have a tendency to be downright nasty, blaming our customers for their dog's health problems if the dog isn't on Blue, trash talking other companies loudly in the middle of the store, and pursuing customers throughout the store when they're not interested in switching foods. I've talked to my manager about it and she in turn, has tried to talk to the company, but apparently they don't care as long as the reps are selling.
Their food is probably better than a lot of the grocery store foods, but it seems like the company's ethics and professionalism have slipped. Not to say Purina is being any more professional flinging this case out onto the internet like it has.
