I get it. I really like it. The first couple of months were sort of hit or miss, but I found that after filling out a couple surveys (they ask you to give feedback after each box) my boxes became more and more tailored to what I really liked in each box.
For example, the first couple months, I got some little stuffy toys and there were lots of biscuits and such that I was only so-so about. While Kaiju had fun tearing through the toys, I put in feedback that he needed tougher toys and I was more of a fan of single ingredient treats. After that, I started getting more and more treats that were single ingredient - dried liver and lung, salmon squares, rabbit and duck chews. And Kaiju got some good, long lasting toys - in fact, a couple of his favorites have come from Barkboxes.
I definitely feel like I ended up getting a good amount for my money, and the fact that they seem to actually listen very closely to your feedback can make the box pretty versatile. Now this isn't to say I haven't had some boxes that were sort of duds, because I have, but overall I've really enjoyed them. I think my only complaint is that you have to pay the lump sum before your plan starts. Really wish I could pay monthly. But it's a pretty minor complaint. Apparently there's another one called the Spoiled Rotten box that's also supposed to be pretty neat, but I haven't gotten that one yet.
