Everything at once.
CJ has been rejecting his food for about a month or so now. We went to the vet and she said that it was acid reflex and we did 10 days of pills which seemed to help. However the throwing up has stopped but now he's scratching like crazy at the side of his head to the point of it bleeding.

He has been on the same food since he started eating solid foods. We tried to "spice" it up with putting treats in or something but he just sniffs it and walks away. If we leave it down long enough he will eventually eat it but before this all started I remember timing it that he would eat and eliminate within six minutes. Now it takes anywhere from a half hour to an hour.

Any suggestions as to how to get him to eat again or what you think it might be would be awesome!

Switch to a food he can tolerate.

what do you feed him?

He is eating Purina ProPlan. We've never switched because it's never been a problem until now.

I would switch to Human Grade pet food/treats and a Human Grade Digestive Enzyme/Probiotic (acid reflux may be a sign of your dog lacking digestive enzymes in his food creating mal-absorption/mal-digestion).

The Honest Kitchen Dehydrated food - Thrive Thrive - Gluten Free, Dehydrated Dog Food | The Honest Kitchen 10# box is $75 and re-hydrates to 35 pounds of food. A dog 71 to 90 pounds would eat approx. 3 cups per day. A 10# box will last about 15 days. The Honest Kitchen is the ONLY pet food in the USA that the FDA legally allows to use the words "Human Grade" on it's advertisements and packaging!;)
The Honest Kitchen Treats: Healthy, All Natural Cat & Dog Treats | The Honest Kitchen
Bravo Treats: Bravo! Training Treats

Sunday Sundae (Digestive Enzyme/Pro-Biotic combination) Sunday Sundae Nutritional Supplement

Digest All Plus (Digestive Enzyme/Pro-Biotic combination) The Wholistic Pet

Thank you for the food suggestion! I'm going to have to start looking at these different foods!

I agree an upgrade in food is probably a good idea. ProPlan is full of fillers, a lot of dogs have a hard time with a lot of the fillers in the cheaper foods.

Good luck, hopefully it's just an intolerance and getting onto a better food will resolve things.

Pro plan selects isn't a bad food, but which one are you feeding? He may have an intolerance to the protein. Chicken is a common intolerance.
You might try a fish based food or some other protein and see how he does. There's a lot of good dog foods out there: Merrick, Taste of the Wild, Diamond Naturals, Horizon, etc.

We've been using a protein rich one because he's working and training a lot but I definitely agree. It's time to try a higher quality food.
