Blue Buffalo: Wilderness, Basics or Freedom?
What would you give your pup if she had a sensitive stomach and probably allergies to grain?
I would love to go grain free. But she has a sensitive stomach and Basics is supposed to be for that. But Freedom and Wilderness have grain free.
She in general is doing good on Blue Buffalo and its a decent price for quality and I was hoping to stick with it, especially since i can find it anywhere and can get a discount at my work for it since they have it in stock! (at an animal hospital)
If there is another common, easy to get anywhere dog food, with a similar price, for dogs with sensitive stomachs, while being grain free, I am sure i will be on board!
A lot of threads on here people have suggested Natural Balance LID (Limited Ingredient Diet). I am considering making the switch to either Blue Buffalo Basics or Natural Balance LID. We are feeding Blue Buffalo large breed puppy right now, but he's been having skin issues.. dry, patchy areas, skin darkening in the groin, etc. We used a special shampoo, gave benadryl, etc. It let up a little bit but he still has some dry, itchy spots. I am thinking it is from the food, honestly.
I considered raw, but it's not an option for us right now. Sounds too messy too.
So I'm thinking if we cut his diet down to the "basics", maybe he won't have so much skin trouble.
My pup is a picky eater and she seems to like to life protection one. Try the wilderness one though. It's got 5 stars and its grain free. If your dog doesn't like it, you should be able to return it for a refund
