So I need to figure out a nice tasty way to give the dogs supplements, and the boy some benedryl? My thoughts were to figure out a mixture of all the supplements and vitamins I am going to give them and mask it with something
I want to try and mask them, because the boy has figured out that benedryl is not as tasty as fish oil and that the vitamin c is not as good as vitamin E, so he'll spit it right out and fight with me. I used to dab a little peanut butter on it, but he figured that out too. I was thinking maybe a cracked egg over their vitamin mixes? They both love raw egg! I feed them raw by the way, normally chicken quarters so hiding the pills there would be challenging. Anyone have any experience of suggestions |

Cream cheese. Use more peanut butter and follow up that with the spoon so he's swallowing the pills fast and looking for the spoon.
Mixing with the food won't help, they'll just eat around it. LOL Why does he take benadryl?

What about pill pockets or wrapping them in cheese? I have a picky old bitch who I have to squirt her supplements into ground meat and mix it up. You can crush the vitamin C into a powder (or just buy a powder) and squirt the vitamin E and fish oil in and give it a good mix. Eggs may work but also may not cover the flavor enough, especially for a bitter supplement like vitamin C. Benadryl can be used the same way, either pop open the capsule or crush the pill. I've never had a problem doing it like that.
I really hope you're feeding a lot more than chicken quarters though because that's not a complete diet. You need more muscle meats added and some organs, both of which can be ground or blended up and add the supplements to that as well. |

Oh yeah we vary a lot in meats, some pork, beef (recently going through hunter friends venison).
Loki has always been itchy and it flares up every now and then. The benedryl seems to help him out a bit. They do like when they get liver and hearts, I don't normally give them that daily though. |

I shove his fish oil in cream cheese usually. If hubby buys cottage cheese I will also shove it into a spoonful of that also. My dog hates fish oil I'm really jealous of those of you who's dogs think its a treat.
