My boy loves them. The other morning when I woke up there was one laying beside me...sometime during the night he brought into the bed. lol

I would think the velvet antlers are a bit softer, because they are just grown in. I'd go with both types. Though seldom do the antlers with velvet still on shed naturally?

I agree, The velvet covering the new growth is rubbed off in the spring/early summer. Antlers typically don't shed til late winter, kind of strange the ad would give that option.

The Velvet ones were from a different place that offer venison for human consumption - so I guess they are a by product of the deer meat industry?
They also sell deer tail, deer willy and deer testicles

Well, a velvet antler is from a dead deer or cut off before naturally shedding... I don't want to think about it

They look alright I have heard deer antlers don't last as long at Elk antlers. If your looking for a long chew. I think I would suggest an Elk antler instead.

I know people who have heavy chewers and it lasted 6 months. I just got one for my boy and his stools are perfect and he hasn't made a dent in it, plus the price at the place I get them from is fa-nominal I get an 11in whole for $24!!! I mean that little of money for something that lasts a long time!

My dogs poop was horrible on rawhides and knuckle bones and he could split a knuckle bone in half in two seconds and a foot long rawhide would be gone in half hour he would chew huge chunks and cough and everything. NO more rawhides for me.
