Hi, My name is Kim and I am new here. I have questions about feeding and what food, I cannot afford Blue Buffalo so I feed her Iams. She eats it but only once a day, sometimes twice. She is 1 years old and should she be eating like food is going out of style. Is it common for shepherds to play more then eat. I am really concerned because alot of people are telling me that its bad for her, the Iams. Thank you.

Iams used to be a very good food, however it has gone downhill a bit.
I understand that feeding a $60 bags of food is hard. There is a really nice food that is not much more than Iams and is good. Called Natures Recipe, it is sold at Petco and Petsmart that I know of, maybe more places. No corn, wheat or soy, a good natural type of food and it usually sells for around $35 a bag, which has to be close to Iams. You won't feed alot and stools are small and well formed. |

Canidae ALS is a decent food as well. It's roughly $1/lb, most economical if you buy the 44 lb bag. Sierra is doing very well on this. Nice coat, small stools which means not alot of unprocessed food in the waste.
