Andrew Robert, the problem with that site is many products have not been updated in years. I do like the way they point out the different ingredients and give their reasoning.
A question for all and a good poll question.. IF YOU WON THE LOTTO WHAT WOULD YOU FEED YOUR DOG/DOGS ??? A T-Bone every night for Tony, LOL. I wold still feed a certain amount of Orijen. But then again Tony is part piglet. Last edited by 3ToesTonyismydog; 01-12-2013 at 07:28 PM. |

If I won the lotto, what would I feed my dogs?
I would probably buy enough land to hunt regular for the dogs and perhaps raise meet as well. I would feed them venison, rabbit, some beef (retired dairy cows), chicken, and sheep (probably not lamb, just because you can get more meat out of an adult, goat, and probably fish as well. Oh heck, if we're dreaming anyway, lets add bison and wild turkey. Years ago everyone fed Dog Food. There was no puppy food or senior food. Purina was the big name, and I think that horse meat and corn were probably the main ingredients. Dogs did good on it. And they lived a long time. Nowadays we feed five and six star dog foods and dogs are dying of cancer left and right. I have fed the 5 star food and have had troubles with it. Now I feed a mid-range food and my measure is being able to feed all of them the same thing.

There are quite a few great dog foods out there and many good ones. I am not a fan of BB because I keep hearing of a lot of dogs having issues with it. Here a couple list's I made up, but there are more good ones out there
Orijen, Acana, Horizon Legacy, Fromm, Merrick, Go Endurance, Precise Holistic, Wellness Core, Castor and Pollux Natural, Eathborn Holistic, Evo, Go Fit and Free, Instinct, Pinnacle Peak, Solid Gold, Canidea, Darford Zero/G, Now Grain Free. Pulsar, Blue Wilderness, Artemis, First Mate. Natures Logic, Nutrisourse, Exclusive, Pure Vita, Wellness, Earthborn, Annamaet, Organix, Whole Earth Farms, Premium Edge, By Nature grain free, Victor, TOTW |

Yeah it's and oldie but seems like a fair place to get a baseline. Hopefully the ingredients haven't changed too much over the last few years. I agree about them breaking out the ingredients and giving reasons why or why not to use.
I still have a month and half before the new puppy comes home but I'd like to feed kibble in the am and raw in the pm. My breeder has been feeding the last few litters 50/50 of TOTW and NV Instinct. I'm going to see if I can calculate the ingredients from the OP and see what I come up with. Wish me luck.. I've never been that good with math. : )
