I wanted to make some home made treats. My trainer was using beef liver she baked and made into small treats.
Well I went to two different grocery stores and only found beef hearts or beef kidneys so I bought the kidneys. Can I just bake the kidneys? Is there any other way to use the kidneys as a treat? I head they smell pretty bad. I would rather cook them. Does anyone have any experience with beef kidneys as treats and how you made them? |

I can't answer your question on the Beef Kidney, but another member here (Kiya) recently posted her recipe for liver brownie treats and they sound awesome, I haven't had a chance to try it yet. (I hope you don't mind Kiya, I'm reposting your recipe)
1 cup flour 2 cups potato flakes 1/2 cup chicken broth (can use 1 cup to make more moist) 2 eggs 1lb of liver (beef or chicken) 1 teaspoon garlic powder (I use less) I use my food processer to chop the liver. Pour into mixing bowl. I put the chicken broth & eggs in the food processer (makes for easier cleaning). Then mix all ingredients together. Put in greased pan (I use 2 cake pans). Bake for 25-30 minutes.
