Any alternatives better and as enticing as cheese?

Hey, maybe this should be in the training section...not sure.

Midnight's FAVORITE treat is cheese. I have cut a block into very small pieces to use for training, but we still go through a lot of it. So far it doesn't seem to have affected him negatively, but if my 13 year old kid eats too much cheese he gets constipated. I KNOW, dogs are not the same as children, but I just don't know if this much cheese is healthy for Midnight.

He also really loves jerky, but the kind I eat is loaded with salt, which I read is bad for dogs. The little training treats I bought don't entice him the way cheese and my jerky do.

So 1) is that much cheese bad for him? And 2) any suggestions on what he might work for as hard as he works for cheese?

And a third completely unrelated thing...is it bad for Midnight to eat grass? I seem to remember our dogs when I was little eating grass...but that was a long time ago and I didn't know anything about dog nutrition then... Midnight seems to love eating it. And it's getting to be a royal pain to try to fish it out of his mouth every time he snags some.

I used to cook up a steak and cut it into small pieces for training.

Maybe get a bag of Ziwipeak. It is great food and has the same consistency as jerky. One bag goes a very, very long way.
