Have you ever tried your dog's food/treats?

No, I haven't tried my own dog food or dog treats.

When we were in Germany, we were at my Oma's house with my mom's dog.
(mind you that my older relatives don't read or speak English)
She fed the dog that canned ALPO dog food and used to place the cans above the kitchen cabinets.

My uncle ( mom's younger brother) came home late one night and made something to eat.
When we all got up the next morning, he remarked that he couldn't eat " American" food.
When asked, "Why?", he stated that the American beef stew was awful!

My mom never did tell him that he ate the dog's food....

I've sampled it, as much to know what it should smell and taste like as anything else. I figure that way I might recognize if there is a problem with a new batch. A while back, I got a bag of kibble that didn't look or smell right--it sort of smelled "burned." The taste and texture were wrong too, so I took it back.

Then again, I eat my cooking, so I figure I'm safe from any food hazards.

I made Scarlett's breakfast one morning and I licked the spoon. My family just about fell over laughing. I wasn't paying attention and just did it. It was SO GROSS!! No, I have NOT had any desire to snack on Scarlett's food since then. She even has her OWN cream cheese to take her meds with. Some things should not be shared. :P

There's a Three Dog Bakery here that has blueberry cupcakes for dogs. Those are the only treats I have tried.

I've tried everything I give my pup, except for his canned tripe - I almost licked the spoon once after dishing it out but the smell stopped me dead in my tracks. :P
