my dog was fed it for a long time till she went on rc
BUT there is one kind i never tried and that is the one that has NO potato in it its The duck and legumes one here is the ingred Duck Meal, Dried Garbanzo Beans, Dried Peas, Pea Starch, Duck, Natural Flavor, Canola Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Beet Pulp, Ground Flaxseed, Salt, Salmon Oil, Potassium Chloride, Vitamins (vitamin E supplement, niacin supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, vitamin A acetate, thiamine mononitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement, folic acid), DL-methionine, Minerals (zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, copper sulfate, manganous sulfate, sodium selenite, calcium iodate), Choline Chloride, Taurine, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid (preservatives). Do you think it would be worth a try rather than going to acana which has potato and duck already in it kinda like beating a dead horse? |

What exactly were the issues your dog had? Can you clarify a bit?

Are you sure it's food and not environmental? Or some other health issue?

Some dogs don't do well with the fish oil, and the flax can also be a problem - this is what I've seen come up in my reading. I think it's just a guessing game and you'll only know if you try it with your particular dog. Good luck with it! Are the eyes and ears still bad? My puppy's seemed to clear up a few weeks ago, so it must have been some of the pollen out there.

well your dogs symtoms sound really scary way more scary than mine
There is a new food out called http://mycaninecaviar.com/ I got a free sample at the store I think you should try it get the kind for allergic dogs FOr now i also got a bag of natural balance legumes I don't want to feed acana it has way to many things in it. I am also adding in a good pro biotic that is comming this week in the mail. CaviAr dog food has its own pre and pro biotic but its probably not as powerful as some of the good ones out there. But the woman at the store said by far she feels that it is the best food for dogs with alllergic issues. Better than natural balance even. She has not had one customer say it did not work. it uses 1 protien source plus peas nothing more. Last edited by pets4life; 11-05-2012 at 04:28 PM. |

Thanks for the tip! I just think it's a little suspicious that our dogs both have the ear and eye thing going, and anal sac issues. Our vets are treating them differently...IDK but when I upped the pumpkin (fibre) he's back to normal now. So is he really allergic, or is it something to do with his bowels? I wish I knew more, lol.
