would you/ do you give supplements to you dog if they are healthy i.e are young and no real health issues you have to battle?
ive heard the phrase if its not broke don't fix it. but im wondering, can some supplements be used to try and prevent (im not sure if that is possible or not, im a noob when it comes to supplements) issues later on in life (arthritis, etc) but lets use my dog for example. 2.5 yr old female with just digestive and skin issues. through food changes we have found a food she wouldnt throw up. she gets fish oil to help with her skin would you feed any aditional supplements like joint supplement, digestive enzyme, and tumeric? these have been suggested to me and ive read about tumeric with an it helps with anal gland issues, anti inflamatory, has antioxidants. the digestive enzyme is for made specifically for dogs and has prebiotics and probiotics to help aid natural digestion i want whats best for my dog and have no problem buying these things. but would you feed a supplement to a basically healthy dog? her parents werent OFA'd and she had x rays done when she was around 6 months because she kept limping but the vet didnt postion her right and he said she ould have problems down the road. bottom line i dont want to feed her something that's going to hurt her in the long run |
