Anyone use Royal Canin GSD specific food? - Page 3

read the ingredients first ingredient is whats mostely in the bag it should be Chicken NOT chicken Meal or chicken by products. Stay away from any food that doesn't have quality protein as first ingredient. Also I wouldn't get food with a lot of grains in them and fillers. Really just read the label. Reseach this forum look for posts where GatorBytes talks, she is very smart.

Actually, if the first ingredient is chicken and the second is chicken meal (or any other meat meal for that matter), what you are getting most of is the meal ingredient. Whole meat is mostly water and after it is processed that water is removed. A high quality meat meal is actually a more desirable ingredient, especially in a food with a low amount of meat products in the first five or so ingredients.

Guys, the point of this food is the research that went into making it. While internet quarterbacks can sit and dissect the ingredient panel they do not know why things are there and why they were used. Everything in the food was designed for the GSDs sensitive system that we all know and love (I don't have that problem but many do) The company did years of research to produce this food. If you do not care for it fine but calling it a marketing gimmick or garbage is simply not true and way off the mark.
