LOL Love it.

When I got Riley, the breeder had her on Diamond. I switched her to Wellness LB puppy. Did fine until last fall, bought a new bag, she had horrible diarrhea. Cleared it up with bland diet, back to food, instant diarrhea. Went back and forth for a few weeks, trip to vet to rule out everything.. finally put her on Purina One select blend. (I know, I know). She finally quit having diarrhea.

Tucker kept eating out of her bowl so I switched him too.. ( I KNOW I KNOW) I planned to switch them, I just wanted things to settle down in the digestion department with Riley.

Fast forward to this past week, Riley starts with diarrhea on Sunday night... by Tuesday Tucker had it. Put them both on bland, and no change. Took Riley to vet on Friday and the best she can figure is, the food is just crap and they need to be on something better quality. Riley's bowels were so sluggish and something is just sitting in her bowels festering I guess. So they both are on metronadzole (sp?) and another brown gooey mess to help the lining of the intestines. I was told to get them better food.

The vet mentioned pancreatitis with Riley but the only symptom she even remotely has is diarrhea.. and for all I know the other time (Wellness food) could have been a bad bag. I just don't know.

I'm thinking I may put her on a fish of some sort, as it seems to be recommended a lot for sensitive stomachs. I just don't want anything with TOO much protein.. I've tried orijin with Riley and it was just too rich.

FWIW- my golden with skin and tummy issues has done fabulously on California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato and their grain free salmon formula which is a little "richer" but hasn't even caused the stomach issues he had on the other foods we tried (Acana, Orijen and Evo- which we mix and rotate among for our lab)

The High Prairie (yellow bag) also has chicken meal in it. It is the 3rd ingredient.
