When was their last vet check? I would also see if you can go to a hardware store like ACE or one like it and see if they have a kit to test water levels and what's in it. It could be something in the water; I honestly think that animals are much more sensitive to different things than humans are. Remember, the water is treated so that it can be used for human use, sometimes we don't know what they use to clean it! The water here in FL comes out smelly when they use it on the lawn, but from the tap it is seemingly "clean" and has no smell; however, it is the same water. So basically, you just never know.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Until you know what is causing the diarrhea, it is anyone's guess as to whether or not the food is to blame. There are many dogs that live long lives on less than great quality food and none of mine have ever been able to eat Wellness without diarrhea. My GSD, Max. has SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and takes a capsule of Tylan powder (filled by me) daily. He stopped having diarrhea once I decided to try the Tylan in the very beginning of June. Before I learned about SIBO, I assumed that his food was the culprit and I tried several different brands without any continued period of success. We tried several grain free brands and even limited ingredient diets too. No change in his pattern of diarrhea until the Tylan and he has not had a loose stool now in seven months. I used to show my other dogs and, as mentioned above, water supply changes can wreak havoc on a dog's GI system. When I left for dog shows, I always brought water from home with me in jugs. Otherwise, between the stress of the shows and the changes in everyone's routines and water, diarrhea was pretty much a given with some of my dogs (not all). Figuring out what is causing it is pretty much a trial and error challenge. If both dogs are having diarrhea, I would consider the enviornment as well unless they are both eating the same thing all of the time.
