This started the week of December 18th. I don't know if we got a bag from a bad batch, but Angus and Freyja got extremely sick after eating from their new bag of Taste of the Wild High Prairie. We opened the bag on Sunday, by Wednesday hives started showing, and they were extremely sick on Sat (Christmas Eve). Hives, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, refusal to eat, etc. We took them to the veterinarian Christmas morning after their symptoms didn't resolve. After a full workup, bloodwork and two veterinarians examining them, it was decided to monitor to see what was causing the reaction as no other cause could be found. Later that day we gave them a small meal, the hives came back in less than 30 minutes. After consulting the veterinarian both dogs were switched to Hills ZD and all symptoms resolved. After receiving the AOK regarding their health we switched the pups to TOTW Pacific Stream (checked to ensure a different batch number). Angus has been doing great and loves the food, but Freyja immediately reacted, developing hives and having diarrhea shortly thereafter. The belief is that her body has developed an allergy to the food after she was sickened by it two weeks ago. She is still on Hills ZD but I want to switch her to something else. Does anyone have suggestions for other high quality food to feed?

Life's Abundance. I LOVE this food! All batches are made fresh and tested. Total time from production to your door is 6 weeks! Great, quality ingredients, and this is the first food that my dog will eat with enthusiasm!! Her coat is shiny, stools are perfect, and energy level is great!! Some people think it is more expensive, but that is because it is a 40 lb bag...not 25-30 like most other foods! Plus, it has never had recall, and doesn't sit on a shelf for months!

I have had nothing but success with Orijen dog food. For the fosters I have that can't eat raw (for one reason or another) we use Orijen. We've also used TOTW with some success for our IBD dogs I would give Orijen (Sister Company=Acana) a try.
I agree with the person who mentioned Natural Balance too; we've done well with that too and it's at a reasonable price point. I also think Jax08 has a valid point- I would contact the dog food company.
