We're presently feeding Joey (6 years old) Royal Canin, since that's what his former owner fed him. He's not fat, but I can see a little weight creep.
Was thinking of trying the Wellness Core Reduced Fat, but we still have a large bag of Royal Canin left. Is there any harm in mixing the two until we put Joey strictly on Wellness? |

It won't hurt him to mix the two.
Why not just cut back on the amount you feed him rather than changing food?

The best way to lose weight is the same for all healthy individuals: diet & exercise. Not formulated weight reduction foods or fancy diet crazes.
Always drives me nuts when clients at work ask if they should switch to S/D R/D so their obese dogs can lose weight. Though if he does well on the Wellness Core I'd personally switch foods myself.
