Default Toxic human foods.

I know people put peanut butter in Kongs and other things but isn't there some kind of nut that is toxic? I also just heard about onions. What else is common?

Macadamias are toxic for dogs. There is an oil in the nut that they can only break down partially, and the partial break-down is toxic.

Some varieties of avocado can can stomach upset and any cruciferous vegetable in large amounts. Acorns in large amounts can cause the runs.

Oh green skinned and sprouted potatoes have enough Solanine to really cause problems, and cooking doesn't destroy it.

More problems happen with house plants and garden plants though.

The whole Gardenia plant didn't seem to bother Sierra at all.

ASPCA | Animal Poison Control Center

Remy ingested 8 ounces of raisins (1 ounce can be lethal) while I was out of town. With a lot of luck, a quick response time and agressive treatment, the vets say he will be fine. He spent 4 days in the I.C.U.

The nuts of a Sego palm tree are toxic, but not the little berries that fall from the California palm species. I have a Sego in my yard, but my dog just ignores it.

Onions are bad, garlic is OK if it is natural, not powder.
The only safe nut is peanut.
The link says raw eggs are unsafe but there are several threads in this forum that dispute that.
This thread should be a sticky under the Health Topic with a link to the dog poison center.
