It looks pretty accurate. It is just amazing at how many foods out there are just marketing companies.
What I always look for on a package is the manufactured by (means the label is owned by the manufacturer) or manufactured for label (means I am just an investment company or marketing company that is shopping my formula) Usually have little to say where ingredients come from or the manufacturing practices of those making the food. You can also find manufactured for and distributed by. If you see either of those it will mean the same. (they are not the manufacturer)

Shets, marketing companies? Some of the best foods on the market are made by co-packers. Smaller brands almost always means better quality and more independent controls. The larger a company is the harder it is to acquire the best ingredients.

They may have a good formula but they are still just a marketing company. In most cases they go for the lowest cost manufacturing or lowest cost logitics.
They don't have control over the product. In most cases they schedule their run with the manufacturer and a representative from the company isn't there to do any type of testing. It is up to the manufacturer to do all testing.
The size of the company has nothing to do with the quality of ingredients. If anything the larger they are the better they can buy and get at a better cost due to volume.

That is total bull ****. I have heard that from more big company pet food reps over the years than I care to remember. It is almost a script.

Almost every big company product is a second class product at best.

I really need to send this link to someone on the Doberman Talk forum. They tried to bash my choice in Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and Rice. According to this link, it got a 98A. I know it isn't the BEST choice of kibble on the market, but it's not like I'm feeding my dog 'Ol Roy or Kibbles and Bits. They told me it was a crap food and that it was 'an overly expensive sack of potatoes'. Thanks for posting this link - it really helps me looking into foods and what to look for!

Let me ask.. Have you ever even been to a manufacturing facility?

Do you even know how pet food is made or who makes your pet food?

What food do you feed anyway?

As far as ingredients, there are only a handful of suppliers so most no matter the size have to buy off of one of them.
