Which is a better "starter" kibble. My 2year old Rex has been on TOTW since he was a year old and does great on it. I understand it is not a good puppy food due to high calcium levels. He was on Chicken Soup Puppy before TOTW and had diarrhea problems on it. My new pup arrives next week and I want to avoid that if possible

Sorry, can't be too helpful here, but my pup has been on Innova LBP from about 13 ish weeks. Never tried the other you mentioned. Mine has issues with constipation with Innova. I add a little canned food and pumpkin daily to keep things coming out as they should.

If I had to choose between those 2, I would go with the Innova. I would stick with the same meat that the puppy has been on. Though the Innova is chicken AND turkey, that is closer to the chicken in the Pro Plan that the bison that is used in the SG.
You are planning on being done if the P.P. to do a switch though right? I would feed the PP only for a week or so rather than switching right away on day 1.

I like to feed red meat kibble too. (Mine eat TOTW High Prairie after 12 months.)
But with a baby puppy I like to "keep it simple". They have all their lives to eat different protien sources, but if the puppy is doing well on a chicken based food when you get it, why mess with what is working? (That is my feeling.)

That may be, but this new baby isn't Rex!!!!!!!!!
![]() This baby might do wonderfully on chicken and terrible on red meat. Though hopefully it will do great on anything! I fed Chicken Soup to my dogs several years ago, all 3 did fine on it. UNTIL all 3 started scratching like crazy. The scratching stopped as soon as I changed food.
