Default Beef based puppy food?

So Jager has a chicken allergy. I had him on wellness LBP and he had extremely soft poop. I then switched him to Blue Buffalo LBP and the same thing happened. I tried adding pumpkin and even yogurt (he's lactose intollerant too) to help but it didn't.
So I was convinced to start raw. Although he loves it his poop was liquid. Most of his meals consisted of chicken necks, quarters, hearts and gizzards.
I then switched him to all beef, stew meat, cheap steak cuts, liver, ground beef and his poops firmed right up which is good but spending $5-$6 a day isn't in my budget.
Is there a quality kibble that is beef or lamb based that anyone can recommend? I would prefer one that doesn't have any rice or grain.

He is 5 months old 43lbs, stands 21" at the shoulder and is 23 3/4" long chest to butt

Here are a few that I have found. I will say that a few are pretty expensive.
Look at www.doggiefood.com they carry most brands.

1) Acana Ranchlands
2) Caifornia Naturals Venison
3) Canidae Grain Free Salmon
4) Earthborn Holistic (Bison & Fish based Grain Free varieties) *BEST in price*.
5) Instinct ( a couple of meat varieties)
6) Natural Balance Venison & Sweet Potatoes
7) Natural Balance Bison & Sweet Potatoes
All these foods are Grain Free.

Also places like Target and Walmart have sales on their beef, Target only sales the ground beef, but its really cheap when its on sale. Target recently had a sale on their ground beef last week in fact 3/$7 which equals to $2.33 for each pack. I also seen it for $1.99 per pack before as well. Could you try turkey or does he get the same reaction?

Nature's Variety Instinct has a rabbit based food but it's pretty expensive
Taste of the Wild has a lamb based and a red meat formula, also a fish
My dog doesn't tolerate chicken very but he's done fine with TOTW
Check to see if Victor foods are available in your area- it's a great food and inexpensive

Keep in mind that the vast majority of grain free kibbles have more calcium that it's typically recommended for a large breed puppy.(Then there are those that use the arguement that a GSD isn't a large breed so that doesn't matter. You just have to go with what YOU are comfortable with.)

Natural Balance may be low enough,(the website doesn't show the MAX calcium, but it is low on the MIN end.) BUT it is also mostly potato and/or sweet potato with little meat.

Thanks for the replies. I got a small bag of Natural Balance bison and sweet potato formula and see how he does on that.
It's frustrating that most food producers put minimums on the bag but they don't put maximums.

Yes it is! Though if you call them, many are glad to give you that info. (But some aren't.)
