I was in my local independent feed store today buying flea bombs for my new foster when I came across this food:
Exclusive Pet Food - Dogs It was $30 for a 35lb bag. I'm sticking with Victor but this looks good for the price. Hope it helps some people!

There is a fancy brand made by the same company called Infinia and lower priced one called Red Flannel. Classic rural feed store food. |

Yeah, the lady at the feed store said it was made by the same company that makes the Purina horse feed, which has a much better reputation than the company that makes Purina dog foods. I saw they had a grain-free line also.

Then it is Land O Lakes. We dont have feed stores anymore, what's left of Agway is a joke, teak furniture, $1,000 goldfish and wildflower seed kits. Halloween costumes too. I can't even buy a 50lb bag of beet pulp anymore.

I fed my previous dogs Exclusive. I had no problems with it and would have probably continued to use it except for my gsd's allergies and then subsequent research. I still think that it is probably a very good product for those on a budget.

Funny you should mention the $1000 goldfish. When I was a kid we always put goldfish in the stock tanks to eat the mosquito larvae and we realized that the little feeder fish we put in there grew to be 6 or 8 inches long with these huge, colorful fan-shaped tails. So for a while there I had a little business raising and selling goldfish. I'd buy them for a nickle apiece and sell them for twenty-five or thirty bucks.

Now they are called Koi. You can't stick a $1,000 price tag on a "goldfish" |

Sable, you should meet some of the show people.
You'd be surprised what a champion Goldfish from proven lines can go for. Koi (there is a difference in the two!!) can easily go for $800-$1,000+. I've seen a couple at over $2,000!!On the other hand, I highly doubt this fish is worth $100 regardless of it's size (Probably huge therefore the reason for the price as Emoore discovered keeping Goldfish. In really any fish, the bigger the size the more $$$ you'll pay) because it's probably just from random stock like normal pet store fish. It'd be pushing it to pay $200 for a fish like that (would need to be a rare pattern which do occasionally pop up in pet store fish) much less $1,000. It's kind of like with dogs, fish have written show standards too! The more they win, the prettier they are, the BIGGER they are, the more they're worth!!
