So I was looking online at doggiefood.com last night and came across some new brands or at least brands I've never seen or heard of before. Has anyone tried Addiction or know someone who has? There is also Mulligan, Fromm Gold, Whole Earth Farms, Wellness Simple, and Nature's Logic. I will provide the link: Dry Dog Food and other pet products on sale at DoggieFood.com, so I'm just curious, they don't provide the analysis by the way, but only the ingredients.
The website is kind of a pain to navigate too, when you click on a food to take a look, it clicks to the first page after you try and go back to where you are. Any knowledge on these (just a general inquiry, and trying to expand my knowledge on different kibbles) brands would be helpful to know more about .ETA: They also have a food called Abady.

Many of those have actually been around for quite a while. Fromm, Abady, Natures Logic,. Whole Earth Farms is made by Merrick.

I'd never heard of Addiction until sable123 mentioned it the other day and their U.S. headquarters is in the same state I am.

BarbE uses Nature's Logic. I've heard of Fromm and Abady but have never used them, and I don't know anything about the others. Doggiefood.com also carries Earthborn Holistic, which I've switched my dogs to recently. Halo eats the Primitive Natural, and Keefer eats the fish based one, don't recall the name. Halo can eat anything, and at a little more than half the price of the Orijen she was on, the Earthborn is a win for me. The jury is still out on Keefer, I may end up switching him back to the Orijen 6 Fish, I'm not sure yet. I just started his second bag, so I'll see how it goes once we get close to the end.

I forgot about those two. I've heard of Lotus, but only one or two kinds and not of the whole line. Its just unusual that these aren't talked about. The Fromm Gold is something I've never heard of either or even the Wellness Simple. I've heard of the other Fromm and the other Wellness, but that is about it. So Whole Earth Farms=Merrick? Okay, thank you so much Tracy.
Debbie, do you know how good (or not good) Abady is as a food?

I've been feeding Addiction for a while now. My dogs like the lamb and beef varieties. You rehydrate it with water and then it looks like canned food. It's also great for storage and travel because it takes up less space, since it's dehydrated. The dogs seem to really like it.
But I have to say, I really dislike doggiefood.com. First, they are expensive, and their shipping just sucks. I've ordered from them, they claim it's in stock, but don't ship for weeks. If they don't have it, they should say they don't have it, not pretend they do and then keep telling customers for weeks that it will ship. One order I placed, they kept telling me every week that it would ship, and two months later, I still didn't have it. I hate that. When I order food, I want it within one week. If they can't do that, I want to know. So I've been ordering Addiction from here: addiction | PetStore.com and here: https://www.naturalpetwarehouse.com/...bcat=1&x=0&y=0 |

As far as the food goes, it is a very, very good product if you are ok feeding a granular food. It is like oily sand and some dogs make a mess eating it. He was the first guy to really sell a raw frozen food and today I think it is the best complete raw sold. He was selling high protein, low carb foods before anyone and he was right over 40 years ago. That is how long this food has been around. In NYC where I work, it is one of the most popular foods around for sure every store sells it. He was so polarizing that people hated the food before every trying it. I would not hesitate to recommend it but rarely do I because people either can't find it or think a granular food is weird, but it is the least processed of any commercial food besides raw. The stuff never gets heated except the small amount of rice that is cooked separately and then mixed in. Also, a large box is well over a $100 but it has 700 -800 calories a cup. Much of what he wrote is kind of silly, but he was right in designing a food with so much animal protein and a laundry list of different fats. Crazy Genius for sure. I saw that Doggiefood.com sells it and they must really like the guy because there is so much demand for the food in the mom and pop stores. I bet if you ask the DoggyFood.com guy he will tell you on the QT it is probably the best food on his website. Last edited by sable123; 09-23-2011 at 05:20 PM. |

But I thought Abady did have kibble foods?? Doggiefood.com list Frontier and New York Naturals as kibbled, under a different area than the granular foods. o.o Though it'd be interesting to see what the granular food looks like!! We don't get Abady around here. :/ |
