Default Orijen Regional Red

Picked up a bag of Regional Red from Orijen. Thought I would see if Jack would try it by itself as he isn't a big kibble eater. Sure enough, he sat down and tried to lick the kibbles up; he doesn't do well with eating kibble - doesn't quite get it. But this is the first good experience I'm having with any kind of kibble by itself. I'm still giving him his wet food, but I'm hoping I have a winner where I can eventually just give him dry (better for the teeth...even though his teeth look good).

The other dogs are now eating their food at the appointed time vs. me needing to leave it out. That is a HUGE plus. I want to be able to control the amount each eat w/out them going without as I'm not sure who has eaten what or how much! I am adding a small amount of Eagle Pack Original just to be sure Angeles doesn't get the runs (it has some beet pulp and corn in it, which should help with any transition to help keep the stool formed - my insurance policy!). The other dogs I don't have to worry as much about that.

I thought about this bag since it has red meat in it - Jack is a red meat eater. And a huge surprise for me - Angeles is NOT getting gas! He got it on the Adult, Six Fish and the Acana fish formula. Might have found a winner for them all.

Hope it works out for you!

I just switched from regular Adult formula to Regional Red. We are on day 2. I'm not sure if Sage doesn't really like it or is just being a bit picky because it is different. He wasn't interested in it at first but ate it all. Then was licking his mouth like "oh boy that was good" He will still sniff at it and walk away only to return and eat it 5-10 minutes later. Looks pleased when he's done though. If he keeps this up we will probably go back to Adult and rotate this kind in every once in a while.

Sage sounds adorable! It does have a nice smell to it. I'm wondering if I can get Angeles used to the formula if I will be able to swith to some Adult later one without the gas. That would be cool. And I sure hope Jack continues to want to eat it. Somedays he is like the movie "30 First Dates" where I have to remind him how to eat each day

My dogs are doing well on the Regional Red. No Issues. Meal time is continually enjoyable for them.

Abby had difficulty absorbing/digesting it. Lots of gas and smelly poops.
Glad to hear good reviews.

If you want to try a great new kibble, order a 4# bag of Back to Basics Pork formula from Petfood direct and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
