Default Eating Problems w/ Rescue

This is surprisingly hard on me because I have no clue what his life was like before;

It has been roughly 2 months since we found and rescued Rocco. Tried him on Nutro LBA, and definitely not the best results so I decided to switch him to Blue Buffalo Wilderness (Grain-Free, not knowing whether he had allergies.) He did ok on this, not the best. Would eat 2-3 1/2 cups a day depending on how hungry he was, and rarely refused a meal but sometimes he would. (Mind you he is 100-105 lbs.) I wish he would eat a little more specifically. Doesn't get excited over kibble at all, actually gets excited for human food more but we don't give him any, and it has been difficult to kick this habit (he obviously was given some before).

Fast forward 2-3 months, and we just moved last week from sea level to around 8000 altitude. I don't have many complaints about drinking as he is getting some water down; however he didn't eat the first night, but ate 2 cups and a cup of white rice the night after. Has had runs as well, at one point it was ALL liquid like water. It had been roughly 60 hours since he ate last, didn't eat least night. I lay down his food for 20 minutes, if he doesn't eat I take it away until the next day. He may have also been a free-feeder before but I do not like it at all.

Went out today and bought some Innova LBA for him, maybe he will like food with grain in it a bit better, haven't tried it due to the fact that I prefer grain free. Also picked up 2 cans of Innova wet food to maybe entice him a little bit. Hopefully this will work out, but any tips from people just in case? Or possibly other brands that I should try if Innova will not work? Was looking at Wolf King, and a couple other brands that the local store carries that my previous store did not. Am considering Chicken Soup For The Dog Lover's Soul LB due to the fact that these foods might be too rich for his stomach. Suggestions?

Ok just some thoughts, you rescued him 2 months ago, now had a big move?? Of course he is having problems eating, his life is in turmoil and he is unsure of his place in it. He doesn't know if he is 'home' or still movign around. give him time, and stick to one food, give him time to adjust to your home and the move and regular meals in a regular place. I think you will see an improvement the longer you have him.

Also ALL dogs prefer our food, and that is normal and natural. I would try some raw or cooked for now small amounts, and seee if he picks up any. Also the runs can be from a change in water as well and a dog with nerves also can get the runs.. So much going on in his life and so many changes. Try cooking some hamburger, lean if possible, add over cooked rice and some pumpkin, pure pumpkin cooked nothing added, buy a can and add a tablespoon/meal, and try 3-5 smaller meals for awhile and add some dry kibble but stick to the brand he had been eating and slowly up the amount, until he eats twice a day, and if you wish to add soem human food don't worry you can add soem small amounts 5to his kibbel to entice him without ruining him. I always toss in my leftovers, not that there is lots but they enjoy it and why put good food in the garbage??
