Default I need help! Big GSD with pansy stomach

I have had Jake, our 18 month old gsd, on 4health dog food for quite a while. Here recently he started having an upset stomach alot so I picked up a bad of Blue Buffalo Wilderness. Needless to say he LOVES it and I would love to feed it to him all the time but it is very expensive. I was thinking about mixing it with nutro but I wanted to get some opinions first. Any help would be great. Also if you plan on posting something on this about how could I deprive my GSD of the best please don't waste your time. If I could afford it I would but I just can't. THANKS!

My GSD never had a solid poop until I fed him Purina One lamb and rice. He has had no stomach problems while on this food. I know it's not the best, but it's not the worse either. It's affordable, and it works for him.

There have been many posts from those having success with Kirkland that you can buy at Costco.

Nutro is an awful food, I wouldn't feed it to a starving dog on the streets after it nearly killed my dog during a NON-recalled time. Look up the reviews, it's pretty shocking that THAT many animals are diagnosed with organ damage/failure from Nutro.

Maybe he got into something else to cause the upset stomach or maybe you're just over feeding him now? At 18 months he should start needing less food than when he did when he was younger. I'd just stick to the 4Health and maybe feed 1/4th cup less or so and see if his stomach feels any better on that. Switching up foods will just make things worse.

If your GSD likes Blue Buffalo Wilderness, you can now find several good quality food options that are similar, but less expensive. Which formula of the Blue Buffalo Wilderness are you feeding him? I think that there is a BB Wilderness Salmon, Duck, Turkey and possibly another one?

I have a 30 inch tall GSD that is a very picky eater. He also has inflammatory bowel disease. The kibble that works best for him is Purina Pro Plan's Sensitive Skin and Stomach formula. It is salmon-based and is great for his coat and skin too. It has a high calorie count and this helps with a large framed picky eater. My Max likes to have some canned food and a small amount of warm water in his bowl of kibble and I now add one piece of raw turkey (usually a neck). We went through several months of trial and error before we found a combination that works.

Each dog is different and there are many mid-grade and uppper middle grade good food options now.

Tried all of the above with the 4health and it never got better. First day I put him on Blue Buffalo wilderness it was better. He is between 95 and 100 lbs and is not overweight at all. Is there a secret place to find blue buffalo coupons?

We feed some of our own dogs and all the rescued dogs (except those with allergies) Kirkland. It works great and costs less or at least no more than Nutro and some of those.
Diamond Naturals is the equivalent for those without a costco card.

I bet you have a feed store! Call and ask if they sell Diamond Naturals. Not plain Diamond.
