When you think you're socialized..

A Pet Expo proved to be way to much stimulation for my 1year old Alcide yesterday poor little guy. He seemed to be loving it for the most part but he kept intermittently trying toi lightly jump on my thigh (which he never does) and leaned against me. Should I have just left it didnt seem like I was having to force him, which I would never do.

I would say if you want to be able to take him to places/events like this and he does fine for a bit, then take him, just know what his limits are and when it's time to leave. We got Ollie at 4 months with very little socialisation, he wasn't thrilled about DW's training club at first, but through repeated visits, he has gotten to where he enjoys it now.

good looking pup!!

Agree with Nigel - now you know what his limits are, how much he can take in a day. So work with that. He is also still very young, his tolerance for chaos may improve with age. Keep taking him places, try to leave before he gets overwhelmed, and gradually work on trying to extend the time he handles such outings well.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was worried about over doing it and then ruining big events for him thru the rest of his life =(
