6 week old pup has HD???

 To me he walks a little funny, almost like his dad (who happens to have mild HD). BUT, could it be too early to tell? Help? I'm going crazy wondering if he does or doesn't.

FYI - This was an unplanned litter. I did not want want my Max to breed specifically because he does have HD.

Here's a link to a video of little Zeus.

Pay attention to his walk/sway at the 13 second mark.

his left leg gives out
yes he could have little to no hip socket but he could be an uncoordinated puppy too
get him in to the vet for an x ray if this keeps up

much too early to tell --

check him out at 17 sec too
that left hind leg is wonky and wants to give out slightly more than an uncoordinated puppy but what do i know ;)

I notIced the same thing too. It also takes him longer than usual to get up from the down position.

Take him to the vet and have him exrayed if you are worried that much. I think he just looks like a silly puppy at this stage that wobbles.

I am well aware I should x ray him, but honestly I don't have the funds right now. I figured some educated guesses would help me decide if I should borrow the money to get it done ASAP or not.

I will give you my un-educated opinion and agree with Carmen. Much too early to tell.

I think the earliest age where you can have a clue as far as diagnosing hip dysplasia is at 4 months . Even then the femur hasn't finished growing.
