My little boy is very little!

My 6 month old German Shepherd Capone is only about 35 lbs. I have no idea how big his parents were, and I got him from a pet store in the mall... probably not the best decision, no, but he is a great dog and we love him to death. He's had all his first year shots, doesn't have worms, and vet says he looks completely healthy other than being on the small side. He eats 4 cups of food a day and seems to burn right through it. Just wonder why he's so small when, in every other way, he looks completely pure bred to me. Thoughts?

He does have about at least 1.5 more years to grow. My shepherd is 54 lbs full grown at 3 years old. She didn't break 50 until she's well over 1 year old. There are shepherds in their 40s - full grown.

His ears are huge! I am sure he will grow into them!

He looks beautiful and purebred, too bad about the petstore though cause no way to check with breeder/littermates and get feedback on the lines/growth/size :)

But if you love him and he's fitting right into your house, THAT'S the important part! So just keep him fit, healthy, well socialized and trained so he's the dog for you no matter how large he ends up!

Hey, here's my 5 month old on her weekly socialization trip meeting her first monkey!!!
