Default Patton comes to the office (socialization pictures!)

Patton is finally old enough/trained enough to earn the privilege of coming to my day job with me in the office. Housetrained and quieter, with a little more respect to boundaries, disregard for people and ability to occupy himself. Of course what amazing socialization it is to come to work in a vet clinic! So naturally, I took "socialization" pictures of him hanging out behind my desk while my co-workers went about their business and he proved he was a GSD by not being able to care less. Of course when they engaged him he did enjoy it, but I liked that he was so calm and ok with everyone (including dogs!) coming and going and not needing to get up to see everyone/everything. If you have the opportunity, take your dog to work with you!

Great pictures!! I take Stosh to the office with me every once in a while but not every one is too happy about it. Some people are afraid of him and since most of my co-workers are Catholic priests wearing black they aren't too crazy about the furry pant legs they end up with! But my boss keeps a box of treats for Stosh on his desk so I know he secretly looks forward to the visits

Midnite got to spend the day with me at work. He loved it. I work at a garbage company, so lots of people coming and going, it was perfect. I wish I could bring one of them every day.

Love it! Nice photos.

I get to take Russell with me to work every day too. When he had to go stay at the breeders when the girls were in heat, we were so sad that he wasn't at work with us. Such a good boy.

Wow, it's awesome to hear that so many of you get to take your pups/dogs to work with you! It's great to have them with us more often as it really helps with stress and annoyment in the office for me... and it's great for them to see more people/things as well!

My friend is a professor at the university here, and last night we were talking and she teaches a small class on Monday nights- said she'd love for me to bring a dog or two next week to spice up the class a little and give the tired college kids some energy and joy- Patton and Recon will be going next week for sure! I hope to get some awesome pictures of them.

That is actually a life jacket! It is Kong brand, and very thin (I don't see it ever actually serving it's purpose!) and sporty with reflective material on it. It was on sale/clearance for just a few bucks at the pet store, so I grabbed it up, along with a regular kong reflective vest. The regular vest was outgrown very quickly, so I have been putting this on him when we go out just because I don't have an "in training" vest and it makes people think twice before rushing us since he looks like he's being trained for something.

So yup, I put my puppy in a lifejacket to go out and train.

I don't think I'd want to take my pup to a vet clinic for socializing...so many sicknesses floating thru. Even with all vaccines, it is still taking a risk.
He looks very well behaved and adorable!
