When does a puppies full adult coat color come in? Berlin is still getting more red as time goes on ( he's about 7 months). I guess for the west German show lines, when do they stop getting more red? (Not that I have a problem with it!) he also is mostly black on his back still. Will it stay that way? Will his mask on his face darken?
Also.. He has hair loss/thinning on JUST the bridge of his nose. Any idea why? Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Its good to post photos so we can see.
Best bet is to look at parent dogs, talk w/breeder and compare w/past litters.

My puppy was mostly black on her body when I got her, and both of her parents had lots of black on them, but her grandmother was one of those sables that is brown with black hair mixed all over (gorgeous friggin dog). I assumed Jovi would look like her parents, but after she started getting some coarse hair on her back, some tan and even a bit of white coarse hair started showing through on her shoulders and back legs. It's going to be interesting to see how it progresses.
8 weeks 15 weeks (you can see the brown hair on her shoulders and back legs) (also 15 weeks...just for grins) (Jovi's grandmother...gorgeous, right?) Sent from Petguide.com Free App |
