My pup is neuterd and is exactly 1.5 yrs old.. I know that his hips are still deveolping and I have held off on hard exercise. Because this pup is very high energy, I want him to be taken on runs..,tire him out, etc, perhaps for 4-5 miles for an hour. what are the suggestions? too young? too much time?? just right? ( of course i would build up to an hours time)

At his age you should be fine, but just like you work up to longer distances, it would be best to do the same with your dog. An hour really isn't that long though, and as long as your pace is reasonable he shouldn't have any trouble with running with you. I was doing several hour hikes up and down hills a couple of times a week with Halo starting when she was only 7 months old, but we were walking, not running.
