Jade will be 8 months on Sunday and I was wondering when she will be done growing? Right now she is just over 20" tall and weighs just under 50lbs. She is a little underweight (you can see the back ribs) but we are trying to find the right balance of keeping her lean due to her bad hips and not having her too thin.
Anyway, she hasn't gotten much taller in the last month, do you think she is done growing height wise? I know she will continue to fill out for the next year or so but she is not even in the breed standard for height. I'll love her anyway and I don't plan on showing or breeding her so it really doesn't matter. Again I'm just curious.

At 6mo, Kylie was 41 pounds (that was last week). I posted here asking about it and the responses I got were that at 6mo, a GSD should be about 2/3 of their adult size. The vet guesstimated that she would be about 60 pounds, so that sounds about right.

For the big breeds like the GSD, 2 years, though they still can do some filling out until 3 yrs or so. So, your dog still has some growing to do.

Well not as big as mine. For Spirit, I would estimate he'll mature (at age 3 - 3 1/2) at close to 100 lbs. It could be less depending on his bone structure and height. At 9 months, my Sting who is big boned and tall was 104 lbs. He matured at 32 inches high, 130 lbs.

Thank you
I can't wait to see how he matures through the next few years. It's odd, he's taller than my golden retriever, and thinner, but he weighs just about the same. Not sure where all that weight is on him.
