So I have had Xena for about 7 months now (11 Months old) and she goes through cycles of being somewhat confident and then skittish. She is more confident when we are doing traing classes and she is around other dogs and people. When there is a lapse between classes she reverts back to being skittish. Right now we are in the dead of winter in WI and outdoor stuff is pretty tricky especially when you want others around. I do take her to Pet Smart once a week for about a half hour and take her with me anywhere I can even if she has to stay in the car. Any Ideas for increased social activities? I will probably sign her up for the advanced Obedience class next.
I think she may always have this in her. Although I hope she grows more confident as she gets older. Also It seems after she was spayed it became worse. I took her to the vet to have the stiches removed and she was so scared she pooped on the rug.

I know my pups go thru a lot of stages both mentally and physically the first few years. I think you are on the right path to continue with classes because they seem to work well. Other plus is to ask teacher and other students what they do in the winter and can you join the fun!
