How young is too young for a puppy to participate in bite work?

You can do rag play early on but bite/tug should end when teething begins...resume again around 7 months.
If you are going to do protection bitework that can wait til pup is over a year...if s/he has it in him/her, it will be there regardless. |

Oh dear you mean I shouldn't be playing tug with my pup she is four and a half months so it is better to wait till after teething ?

She has just started to get permanent teeth she has two i think.
