At what age should I do a preliminary hip/elbow check? My trainer suggested six months. To be blunt, to make sure she is "worth" putting the money of training in to. At what age would I get a decent/accurate result? Thanks for your help.

I do mine at 1 year - BUT - I should be doing it earlier since my dogs work quite intensely (schutzhund).
Zefra will be getting hers done at about 1 year though.

I know a lot of people who work their dogs (for high levels of the sport) test around 6-9 months when the growth plates close or fairly close too closing anyways.
To me, I don't do a lot of jumping or strenuous work (outside the norm) that I personally think would hurt them (would they do this anyway? is a question I ask myself) so I wait.
