Question Yet another weight check thread.....

Your opinions please? Does my boy look like he's at a healthy weight? This is my first large breed dog, so I am really struggling with how much to feed him. I am currently feeding him 3 1/2 cups of Acana Wild Prairie (grain free) and he is a few days shy of 4 mos.

He looks a healthy weight to me. Remember GSD pups will be a little thinner looking than other large breeds (ex. labs who are more sausage shaped). So don't be too stressed if he seems thinner than other breed pups.

He looks great to me! If you look on his sack of food it gives you recommended feeding instructions based on weight/age. You can always increase it of course. But, do it slowly as you may make him sick.

Beautiful pup btw! =)

He looks just fine. Shasta was the same way. She still looks to me like she needs to gain but I know its still in her puppy/teen stage. She is up to about 73lbs and she is 9 months

I have a 4 month + 3 day female. If I didn't know better, I'd think they were from the same litter.

He looks good to me.

Thank you all for your input!

Anthony8858, I've seen the pics you've posted of your girl...flattered to think you compared her to my boy

Thanks Chelle. His ears have since flopped back down, so I had to post it to remind myself that there's light at the end of the tunnel

you have a nice looking pup. don't worry
about his weight. some GSD's are larger
some are thinner. let nature do it's thing.
at 4 months old there's constant change
in the body. i take you're feeding 3&1/2
cups total for the day?

Yes, 3.5 cups total per day. It's split 50/50 in morning and evening as our schedules don't allow for a mid-day meal.
