My GSD is a little over 2 years old (about 26 months)... His current weight is 65-67 lbs. He's been the same since about 1 years old. From reading everyone elses posts and the standard weight it seems he's underweight according to the standards. He's been on the best foods, such as Orijen, TOTW, and even Raw. He's also intact.
The vet says he's in perfect health, (felt his ribs, etc...). I'm just wondering if this is normal weight or he's going to gain more weight when he fully matures. It seems he might be lacking a little muscle in the chest area but not sure if he's going to grow into it as he ages to 3 years old. Thanks for your advice and input. |

My male Kaiser is also only around 65-67lbs. He's also perfect weight for his height (approx 24") and bone structure.
The standard is a guideline of what is considered correct for the GSD but not every dog is going to fit within it and it doesn't mean that they are over/underweight just that they aren't standard.

My guy is 20 months and still a gangly teenager. He's about 75 lbs. I'm sure he'll start fililng in soon. Vet said its better to have a slightly underweight dog than over.
