I just want to say socializing is NOT a myth or something you should do....it is something you HAVE TO DO! I love my boy but he was so skittish and scared of the world and has crazy prey drive instincts that I had to get him out and about or I was literally going to have "that" GSD on my hands. Last night a friend with a 6 year old girl and a month old baby stayed and my boy did amazing!!!! He was sooooooooooooooo gentle with the baby sniffing and giving kisses only and with the girl they played and he didn't get too rough or anything! The only time he got a little too excited was when she played tug of war with him but he calmed right down when told to. Kids had always been my fear since I don't have any and wasn't able to get him around as much as I would have liked but to know that just his overall socialization process made him into the huge lover that he is makes me so proud of him! I had always had a worry in the back of my mind that when I had kids I may have to rehome Stoli but honestly it's a huge relief to know we're going to be ok and will be the happy family I know we both want and deserve!!!
OK just thought I would share it was a great morning hehe |
