Your vet should allow you to stop in for a weighing, no charge.
It's also a good idea to visit periodically to make sure they are good at the vets office. After Lakota had her puppy shots I ended up changing vets and since I wasn't happy with the other place it was a long time since she had been in the vets office. This spring when she went to meet the new vet oh boy she was less than thrilled. So now we visit the vets office just for fun. They are really good about me stopping by with her. She is the only dog I ever had that was terrified in the vets office.

I used to stop in regularly at the vet when I wanted or needed an accurate, current, weight. The petsmart here also has a banfield which has a nice scale in the waiting office and if you ask, they'll let you weigh your dog. If you can pick up your dog, you can also weigh yourself, then you holding your dog, then subtract your weight from the total.

Since I have a puppy and want to keep a daily record of his weight, I got a doggy scale.
